Business Name
Adirondack Ambiance, Thurman Business # 1015 518-623-3813
Adirondack Ambiance – Fine Arts and Crafts; Great Camp Furniture With deep respect for the land, the buildings, and the history, the present proprietor has carefully maintained what remains of the historic Stephen Griffing farmhouse, built in 1804. The lumber for our rustic furniture was selectively harvested from the property, and the sawmill used to cut the lumber was designed and built here. The furniture presented in the Adirondack Ambiance Gallery was hand-crafted in the old barn with the pioneering spirit and skills of one man. Our paintings are inspired by photos that have been taken over the years by the artist in residence, and are framed by the artist’s husband, again using gifts from the forest. Adirondack Ambiance is open daily except Sunday, 10 AM – 5 PM, from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Find our shop on NY State 418, a pleasant walk from the site of Thurman Station. Call us at 518-623-3813, or email adirondackambiance@yahoo.com. Send an Email

Enigma Art, Thurman Business #1020 518-338-8667
Enigma Art is a term/brand name coined by Stephanie Mannuci to describe her current artwork. The definition of Enigma, "containing a hidden meaning; riddle", sums it up. With the use of Multi-medium/media Stephanie creates art in which items are collaged together to create one cohesive piece. Stephanie chose the name after several onlookers asked, "Wow! You really used newspaper to make that?" Stephanie doesn't limit herself to any one particular medium but strives to incorporate everything that she can to achieve an outcome that is not only pleasing to the eye but stimulating to the brain and emotions. As a side note, Stephanie's painting is protected and covered in all-natural beeswax! Don't forget to buy one for yourself, and keep an eye on her Ebay auctions.

Thurman Connection Snowmobile Club, Thurman Not-for-profit # 2004 518-623-9948
Our club was founded in the summer of 1996. The first Friday of that September we held our first meeting. On September 4, 1996, we became incorporated with fifty members. The founders realized that Thurman was the missing link between the Prospect Mountain trails and Speculator. They knew that there used to be trails on private, state and county lands. If they could find them--and get permisssion to use them--they might be able to connect and not have to trailer their sleds to ride. What a beautiful place Thurman would be for a trail system. The mountain views, the abundance of wildlife, the beautiful blue skies, the fresh air.... We currently have five groomers operating on 118 miles of scenic Adirondack Mountain trail, covering the towns of Thurman, Stony Creek and Johnsburg. Check conditions via our snow phone, 518-623-2323. We host a Trail Ride in early February, and the annual Blizzard Blast at 1000 Acres Ranch Resort in March. Watch local media for information or see the Town of Thurman Events List. Check our web site to find out how to join, how to receive regular updates about trail conditions and where to phone for snow messages.
